The BRCAlive Tool provides estimates of woman’s future risk of breast or ovarian cancer, from her current age to age 90, for women with a known deleterious BRCA mutation. The cancer risks are based on a computer simulation model using data from large studies of women with known BRCA mutations, and the simulation accounts for the specific location of a woman’s BRCA mutation. Technical details may be found at Cancer Risk Calculations.

The BRCAlive Tool allows a woman to consider preventive surgeries (bilateral mastectomy and/or bilateral oophorectomy) at different ages, to see how her future risk of cancer changes.
